Joy Shared

I used the lovely new Technique Junkie Release stamp Bird and Letter Collage for this card.  The greeting is from Sentimental Sayings.  It only uses one part of one stamp, but it works.

I used the older "Spotlight" technique which can be googled if you are unfamiliar with that technique.

For coloring I used Shimmering Bliss Sprays and the Flamboyant Flourishes stencil from A Colorful Life Stencils.

Lovely Hibiscus

I am in Florida for the winter, and we have hibiscus blooming.  I hope we do not get a freeze that kills off the flowers.  I saw a yellow one the other day, and it was beautiful.   So I decided to make a yellow flower on this Technique Junkies Hibiscus Panel.  I used Twinkling H2Os to paint the flower panel.

I used A Colorful Life Designs Stencils  Interlocking Leaves for both the base card panel and to finish out the hibiscus panel.     The base card was sprayed with a couple of shades of green Shimmering Bliss sprays.   The leaves on the hibiscus panel were sponged with dye based ink.   The differences compliment each other.

Layering and yellow fuzzy yarn finish the card.

Diet Wagon

I stamped the Technique Junkies Diet Wagon stamp directly on the background paper with Versafine black ink.  I heat embossed it with detail black embossing powder.  Then I painted the fie flames and the wagon with Twinkling H2Os.    Then I die cut grass from green vellum and carefully glued it to the bottom on the card.

With Sympathy

We always need sympathy cards.  I tend to make between 5 to 10 sympathy cards at once.  It seems to me when I need one sympathy card, I will need 3 to 4 cards all about the same time.

This sympathy card is created from an embossing folder.   I used a sponge dauber to add dye based ink to the surface of the embossed roses and leaves.  Then I used a paint brush to push ink around the surface and into the crevices created by the embossing folder.   I smooshed a darker pink on a non-porous surface and used that as a palette with a paint brush to add a darker shade of pink (or green) to make the roses seem more realistic.

I heat set it to dry the ink on the card stock.  Then I applied Versafine  black ink and heat embossed the greeting on the front of the card.

I sent this card to a friend who recently lost her father.

Have a great day and get inky.

Small Steps

Stencils are fun to use. I used one of the delightful A Colorful Life Stencils on the Technique Junkies website.  I used Pixie Spray to hold the stencil in place.  This YouTube video will show you how to use Pixie Spray.

I sprayed several colors of Shimmering Bliss Sprays.  I heat set it to dry the card stock.  Then I stamped one of the stamps from the Technique Junkie stamp set Modern Encouragements.  A few tiny beads, some ribbon, and layering and the card is complete.

Fur Baby

People who know me well, know I am not an animal person.  It helps that I am allergic to both cats and dogs.  I enjoy watching cute animal videos but that is it.  I do not want the responsibility of pets either. All of my siblings have or had dogs or cats, even when we were kids.  But I never did. And they have pets now.  Two of my children have pets.  They didn't as children because of my allergies.  But these two Technique Junkies stamps just go together.

So I paired Buddies and Fur Baby to create this cute card.  The Buddies stamp just makes you go,  "Awe, so cute!"  I used a smooth vanilla card stock. Using my MISTI was very important as I "knew" I would need to ink and reink and reink  this photo stamp to get a good clean image.  I used Memento ink in shades of brown.  Then I smooshed the ink pad on a non-porous surface.  I spritzed the ink with water and then watercolored over the fur on the animals. I used a brown fine type water based marker to add in the details that watercoloring faded a bit.

Fur Baby was heat embossed with detail gold powder.

Hate Losing

I used two Technique Junkies stamps for this card:
I Hate Losing and
Once in a Lifetime.

I colored the lady's hair and skin with Copic markers.   I used  the Nuvo glitter markers to color her dress and to give it texture.

I then used a stencil from A Color Life Designs and added color with a finger dauber sponge.

Extraordinary You!!

I used three Technique Junkies stamps to create this card:
You are Extraordinary
Faint Scratches and
Dreaming of Wings.

To create the background I used water color powders in green , blue, purple, and a pale yellow.  I squirted water on them to activate the water colors.  And then heat set them to dry the card stock.  I used several shades of brown ink to color her hair.  I chose to use the same colors in the background for her dress,

Then I stamped  the Faint Scratches stamp with Versamark, and heat embossed a Silver Pearl embossing powder.  Then I rotated the card stock 90 degrees, and repeated the process.   I layered it and then wound silver tinsel type cording around it.

I used Copic markers to color the girl's hair and skin after stamping with Memento black ink.  I used similar colors of Twinkling H2Os to color her dress.  I cut the words away so I only had the girl.

A Girl Should Be ---

Sometimes  you find a stamp that has a verse with it, and you find another word stamps that would also fit that stamp perfectly.  That is how I felt with the two stamps for this card.

I liked the little girl in Happy On and Who and What She Wants go together very well.

I used Copic markers to color the little girl. And I sponged the grass and sky.  I used a craft knife and slit the card stock by her sleeve to thread and tie the ribbon.  The background is designer paper.

The greeting is a new January release and is on sale automatically 15% off through January 8.

Angels and Whiskers!

I used water color powder for the background.  Then I misted it with water.  I stamped They Have Whiskers in Versafine black ink.  I heat embossed it several times.  Immediately after heating the embossing powder I dipped the image in the detail black embossing powder.  The previous heat cause the embossed image to be "sticky" and more embossing  powder would stick to the embossed image.

This image is a new Technique Junkies stamps January release.  You can get it and other for an automatic sale price of 15% off through January 8.

Oh What Fun! A New Year and New Stamps!

Every month (with the exception of December),   Pat Huntoon comes up with new stamps images.  She strives to be unique, and different than any other stamp company out there.  And I think she has succeeded!  And for the first month of this new year, I believe you will find these stamps fit those categories. You can find all of the new January stamps here!  Remember all of the new stamps for January 2020 are automatically 15% off.  And you can stack my own personal Design Team code TJ10Judy and get another 10% off.  Just put the code into the coupon box when you get out.

You should have come to me from the blog of  Jeanne Streiff.  But you can also begin your blog travels today by starting at the beginning with the official Technique Junkies Design Team blog.  From there you can travel every single blog and be truly inspired by the wonderful work on these blogs.

This is my first card for you today.  The verse is in a Technique Junkies set of four stamps called Modern Encouragement.  We can all use encouragement,  right?  This set is a new release for Janauary.

The background stamp is called Artistic Mess.  I have had the stamp for a while and this is my first time to use it.  I will use it again! I am sure most stampers can relate to that!!  First I sprayed my piece of card stock with 2-3 different colors of Shimmering Bliss sprays. Then I used my heat tool to dry the card stock completely.  I used stamping platform and stamped the image over and over with Versamark then I poured an embossing powder that contained varying shades of blue. Immediately after melting the first layer, I reapplied more embossing powder in the same shade.  I repeated that process until the melted powder had an almost liquid look, and I was satisfied with the end results.  I created the greeting panel slightly different.    I stamped the greeting first with Versafine Black ink.  Then I used the same embossing as before and repeated the same process until there were about 3 layers of embossing powder.   Then I sprayed the  same colors of Shimmering Bliss that I used before on the background.  Layering and ruffled ribbon finish the card.

My next card shows the frustration of dieting and wishing for sweet treats.  Diet Wagon is just funny. Most of us have been there! I stamped the image on white card stock with Versafine Black and heat embossed.  Then I placed liquid glue on the flames and added some gilding flakes. Then using  my stamp platform, I reinked the flames, restamped, and heat embossed.   The sky and grass were sponged.    And I just had to add a die cut cup cake!

My last card features the new released Technique Junkies Birthday Queen. I colored the cat face with Copic markers.  But the dress and the border were colored with Kaiser Craft Glitter Gel Pens. These pens are wonderfully easy to color with!  My daughter loves cats and would love this card!

So those cards were my creative take with a few of the newly released January stamps.  I hope you find  many that will appeal to you.  I will have more cards to show you during the rest of January.
