A Butterfly and Gel plate card

I admit it.  I am not really good at this gel plate stuff.   I couldn't even begin to tell you how i did this background except that I used some acrylic paints and some Technique Junkie stamps.  I used Wasted -  , Key Script -  , Butterfly 4 -  , and Butterfly Quotes -

I used a die cut flower and Art Nuvo drops here and there.

Have a great day!  Get inky!

Simple Sympathy Card

Unfortunately, we all need to send sympathy cards from time to time.  Some times you want to spend some extra time creating something special.  But often, we need something nice looking but doesn't require a huge amount of time to create.  This is such a card.

First I die cut a small circle to create a mask.  I decided where the sun would be.  I tore an edge of the circle for the sun to be hidden behind a grassy knoll.  Then I inked up a square acrylic block with green on one edge and blue for the sky on the other side.  It is too bad the blue doesn't show well in the scan. Then I used the acrylic block as a stamp and lined up the grassy knoll with the torn edge of the sun.   Then trees, grass and birds were stamped.  the verse was stamped crooked.  Mistakes in stamping are opportunities for creativity. So I used these two old retired punches from Stampin' Up! to create a small tag with the greeting. And so I covered up my boo-boo!

Happy stamping, and get inky!

Sympathy Banner Card

I used two different Stampin' Up sets -- one with leaves and one with a tree.   Any similar stamps could be used.  The greeting is also a Stampin' Up stamp and is heat embossed.

It is a gate fold card and is an A2 sized card as well.  For the gate fold you score it at 2 1/8 inches on each side of a 5 !/2 inch by 8 1/2 inch piece of card stock.  You can use designer paper for the panels as well.

I stamped a scene with a tree first. Then I used a die to cut the banners,  The die had to be lined up with each cutting so that the tree trunk would be in the same place as the tree trunk in the previous cutting.

When you open the card the banners open as well. It is  nice effect.

Merry Christmas to you and your family, and may some of your presents help you to "get inky!"

Bethlehem Shaker Card

This card uses a Stampin' Up set current for this holiday catalog season.  It is called Night in Bethlehem.  It is one my all time favorite Christmas sets.

I used a die to cut the circle.  I adhered the stamped image of Mary and Joseph to the clear window sheet and added the shaker stuff behind it.  I didn't put enough in to see unless you are shaking it.  That is a good on my part.

I used a darker ink and then a light brown ink to guve a graduated appearance to the buildings in Bethlehem. The sky is sponged with navy ink/ The verse is popped up with dimensionals.

Marry Christmas and get inky!

A Pine Cone Christmas

This card uses Technique Junkies stamps called Pinecones -  and Gifts of Christmas -

The stamp was inked up with Versamark ink and then Pan Pastels were applied to the Versamarkink.  This technique utilizes a dirty Versamark pad so you can actually see where you stamped.  Then I used the red Art Nuvo Glitter markers to  randomly apply red berry dots all over the card.

Night in Bethlehem

This is a Bendy Card.  There are lots of tutorials all over the internet for this card technique.  Just google "Bendy Card."  This stamps set is from Stampin' Up in this current year's  Holiday Mini- Catalog.  I used the star die to cut the star, but the actual stamp is from a retired SU stamp set.  May and Joseph are heat embossed with several layers of clear embossing powder.   Then I die  cut the couple. That left an impression in the die cut that had a white look.  I just heat embossed it again and the white mark went away.

I hope you are enjoying this wonderful Christmas season.

Have a stamping and inky day!

Happy Fall Birthday

Where I live, we still have fall leaves on a few trees -- even though we had our first snowfall this past Saturday.   I like reflection cards so when I saw this stamp at a local stamp show I bought it.  It is an Impression Obsession stamp.   The leaves are created with a small dotted stamp from Stampin' Up. The happy birthday greeting is also from Stampin' Up.  I used Copic markers to add shades of color here and there.  The dotted back ground is also from Impression Obsession.

Have a great day, and get inky.

Deepest Sympathy

I used two Technique Junkies stamps to  create this card. The background is called Watercolor Flowers -  , and a verse from the set called With Sympoathy -

I first stamped the flowers with back ink.  I cleaned the stamp and then I stamped it slightly offset from the first image with white pigment ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I used some pale yellow vellum to heat emboss the greeting.  Layers  and  pearls finish the card.

Music and Christmas

I used an embossing folder for the music panel, and then cut it at an angle.  I layered it with gold card stock.  Then another layer of white card cut at the same angle was adhered to the bottom.

I used a tree stamp from Technique Junkies Christmas Trees -  and fussy cut the tree out.  I added tiny red rhinestones on the tree. The verse is from Gifts of Christmas - was heat embossed with detail black embossing powder.
