Double Z Valentine

If you are regularly  reading my blog you will know that by using TJ10Judy, you can get  a 10% discount on everything you order -- unless there is also a different discount being offered.

I used two Technique Junkies Stamps to create this Valentine.  I used Love Overlay - http://techniquejunkies.com/love-overlay/, and Happy Valentine's Day - http://techniquejunkies.com/happy-valentines-day/  . Both stamps were heat embossed.  Love Overlay was embossed  with an multi-tone embossing powder. I punched out hearts from pink glitter paper and glued them in a variety of places.

The addition of the second Z-fold creates a card with much more visual interest.

Here are the measurements to creat this card:
1. The base card 4 1/4 by 11 inches. Score at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2 inches.
2. The pieces of designer paper measure 2 1/2 by 4 inches; and 4 by 5 1/4 inches.
3. The smaller and second Z is 3 by 8 1/4 inches. Score this strip at 2 3/4 inches and 5 1/2 (measured from the same end as the first score).
4. Optional - I added another layer of card stock to the bottom square attached to the base card.
5. Make sure you do not glue or adhere any of the "free" parts of the Z-fold card.  Look at the pictures above for placement.

Please to use TJ10Judy for a 10% discount off your order.

And tomorrow is another Technique Junkies Blog hop~ Please come back and see what is NEW.

Happy Birthday

Using the code TJ10Judy will get you a ten percent off your order!

For this  birthday card I use some tropical background paper as I have been cold.  I am tired of cold weather already.  I colored the cake with my Copic markers to match the background paper.  I added a row on gold seed beads to add visual interest!  I used a post-it note to create the illusion that the cake was on the table.

The stamp set is called Mouse Birthday Party - http://techniquejunkies.com/mouse-birthday-party/.  The Happy birthday is heat embossed to add some depth.

Have a Ball

Saving money is important.  Please remember to use my discount code when you order -- TJ10Judy.

I used only two Technique Junkies Stamps for this card. The first one is Vintage Dictionary Page - http://techniquejunkies.com/vintage-dictionary-page/  , and Incredible Canning Jar - http://techniquejunkies.com/incrediball-canning-jar-set-of-2/ .

To make the fireflies in the jars, I drew a little circle for the head and then the wings.  I added some antennae, and lastly I used a sponge dauber with yellow ink to create the illusion of light.   As I write this blog post the northeast is gripped in very cold weather.  I wish it was warm enough to see fireflies right now!

Layers and ribbons finish the card.

To create this card I used two different Technique Junkies Stamps. One is from the new set called Butter My Butt - www.techniquejunkies.com/butter-my-butt-set-of-8/ ; and the other stamp is called Momma and Baby - http://techniquejunkies.com/mama-and-baby/  .  I used my MISTI -  http://techniquejunkies.com/misti-most-incredible-stamping-tool-invented/  -  to be sure I got good ink coverage on my elephants.
.

The grass and sky are sponged and layered on designer paper.  This is just a fun card!

Warm Hugs

I have a friend who used to stamp with the ladies in my Wednesday stamping group.  In the winter  she always signed cards and emails "warm hugs."  She even named our day together as Wednesday Friends Day.  We began to see a mental and memory decline over a few years. Her family began to notice it as well.  Then it became apparent she could no longer live alone and take proper care of herself.  Her family moved her into an assisted living facility  for people who have memory issues.  She is doing well there and is well cared for. Her family visits her often.  We get up to see her now and then.

This new Technique Junkies stamp set Winter Wishes - www.techniquejunkies.com/happy-winter-wishes-set-of-3/ -  reminds me of her and our times together.  So I will send her this card to let her know I am thinking of her. The image is colored with Copic markers and the sky is sponged.  Snowy fat glitter flakes cover the ground. The verse is heat embossed.

The Technique Junkies background is called Retro Sparkles - http://techniquejunkies.com/retro-sparkles/ - and it is heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

Coffee, Coffee, Coffee!

I used three Technique Junkies Stamps to create this card.  The background is randomly stamped with stamps from Coffee Quotes - http://techniquejunkies.com/coffee-quotes/ - in various shades of brown.  The young lady (colored with Copic markers) if from Beautiful Faces - http://techniquejunkies.com/beautiful-faces/ . And the verse is I've Had My Coffee - www.techniquejunkies.com/ive-had-my-coffee/ .

The edges are sponged and some burlap ribbon seemed to go this stamp card.

Mouse Birthday

This Technique Junkies stamp Mouse Birthday Party - http://techniquejunkies.com/mouse-birthday-party/ - is  just a fun and silly image.  I colored it in with my Copic markers and by a stroke of luck I found this background paper which was perfect in the colors! The variegated ribbon  ties it all together. Some hot pink acrylic embellishments decorate the cake.

Like Glazed Donuts

This new Technique Junkies Stamp is just a fun image! And it is so true -- fortunately,  I am do not have donuts calling tome all the time!  I wanted to have donuts as part of the background -- so Google to the rescue!  I was able to find some free donut downloads for children's parties.  I printed them and die cut them out.

The stamp is called Birthdays and Donuts - www.techniquejunkies.com/birthdays-and-donuts/.
The donuts are colored in with Copic markers and I use Art Nuvo drops to add the icing and sprinkles on the top.  A funky ribbon is the embellishment.

Butter My Butt

This cute card uses three new Technique Junkies Stamps.    I used Love Harlequin - www.techniquejunkies.com/love-harlequin/, The Kiss - www.techniquejunkies.com/the-kiss/, and a sentiment from Butter My Butt - www.techniquejunkies.com/butter-my-butt-set-of-8/.

I used my MISTI to stamp The Kiss.  I wanted to be sure that the black on the dog was black and not gray. So I reinked and stamped again until I satisfied with the depth of black on the fur. Then the image was colored with my Copic markers.

I added some acrylic pink hearts.

Had My Coffee!

I do not drink coffee but I know folks who do, and who cannot seem to start their day without it!  So the sentiment is a good one for them!  It is a Technique Junkie stamp called I've Had My Coffee - www.techniquejunkies.com/ive-had-my-coffee/. The background and focal image are also Technique Junkies Stamps - Coffee Beans - http://techniquejunkies.com/coffee-beans-background/
and Afternoon Tea - http://techniquejunkies.com/afternoon-tea/  .

The focal image is colored with Copic markers.  The sentiment is heated embossed. Layers and a bit of lace finish the card.

Dutch Door Valentine

If you are like me, you want your Valentine to receive a special card with a little more thought than just a few hearts stamped on it.  This is true for me even though my Valentine cards primarily go to my grandchildren and their parents.  So when I saw a Dutch Door card on another blog I knew I wanted to use that idea for a  Valentine.  There are tons of tutorials with a variety of measurements on the internet including on Splitcoast Stampers and Pinterest.  So have a search, but I will give you the measurements I used.

I used three Technique Junkies Stamps to create this card.  I used Love Heart - http://techniquejunkies.com/love-heart/  , Love Harlequin www.techniquejunkies.com/love-harlequin/, and Happy Valentine day -

Did you notice the goof I made in creating the background with the Love Harlequin stamp?  I stamped it ONCE and then accidentally dropped the stamp onto the card stock.  It created this perfect double image.  I liked it so I used it! It was a "creative opportunity."

These are the measurements I used:
1. The larger red panel is 4 1/4 by 8 1/2 inches. Score at 5 1/2 inches.
2. The smaller panel at the bottom is 2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. Score each end at 2 1/8 inches. Push together when folding so no center paper shows.
3.  The interior white panel is 4 inches by 5 1/4.

Directions:
1. Score each piece as directed above.
2. Using secure glue or tape adhere the bottom panel to the bottom of the card.
3. Cut background paper or card stock to an appropriate size for layering and adhere.
4. Create a flap to open the bottom "doors" with any design that appeals to you.

This is the last day to choose several stamps and take advantage of the 15% off sale of new stamps through January 8 but you may also use the TJ10Judy and get 10% off of anything else in her store.

Rose Valentine

To create this card I inked up an acrylic block with various shades of pink and red Distress Inks, and then spritzed it with water.  Then the block became an inked stamp.  I heat set it to dry before continuing.

After drying I stamped Technique Junkies Stamp Love Heart - http://techniquejunkies.com/love-heart/   - with Versamark.  Then I covered the ink with red glittery embossing powder and heat it.    I only used two words from the Technique Junkies Stamp Truly Madly Deeply - www.techniquejunkies.com/truly-madly-deeply/ - and heat set it.  Only two words would fit. I adhered a piece of rosette ribbon across the front.

Truly and Madly!

I have had this piece of  beautiful background paper for a couple of years.   I knew I wanted to use it on a card but was having trouble thinking how to use it.  I covered the entire card with Versamark ink -- from a dirty Versamark pad! Then I used Q-tips  and added Pan Pastels to the flowers and leaves.  It gives a lovely soft look I think.  In ""real life" the red sections are much softer in appearance.  The Versamark sets the chalk from the Pan Pastels and it is not necessary to spray the card with a fixative.  I bow is tied around layers.

Then I stamped Technique Junkies Stamps Truly Madly Deeply - www.techniquejunkies.com/truly-madly-deeply/  -on vellum and heat embossed it. After tearing the edge I adhered it to the card with adhesive from my Xyron machine.

Happy New Year with NEW Stamps!

A New Year has some exciting things that are associated with it.  New goals, new friends, new habits perhaps -- it all sort of reminds us we can have a clean slate to begin a New Year.  Do you make any New Year resolutions?  One for me is keep my stamping area tidier (it seems like that is a constant goal!), and to keep more up to date with my blogging posts so I am not trying to write them at the last minute.

Every stamp in this blog post is from Technique Junkies Stamps.  I will reference the names of the stamps and provide a link  for each Technique Junkies Stamp -- new release or not. But here is a link for every new release!  www.techniquejunkies.com/january-2018/  And as is always the case all of the new stamps are sale for 15% off through January 8.  So make your selections, stampers!

I  know that Pat Huntoon (the owner of Technique Junkies Stamps) has a goal to find the best images she can to create wonderful cards that can be shared with others!  Now she didn't tell me that -- but I have known Pat for years.  We have talked and I know she is always on the look out for wonderful images to entice us with. And Pat is starting out the year with wonderful new images for January 2018!  You will want to start this Technique Junkies Blog Hop  at the Design Team blog - TJ Blog - https://techniquejunkies.blogspot.com/2018/01/technique-junkies-january-new-release.html.

If you arrived at my blog from Ro's blog - https://rodonner.blogspot.com/2018/01/happy-new-year-blog-hop.html then you are hopping along correctly.

Please be sure and go to every blog on the blog hop as I have seen the cards the various designers have made and they are awesome!  We have some new design team members as well.  You will want to see the styles and designs of Ceal, Lee Ann, Stephanie, Janelle, and Lynda.

I have used two new stamps on this card and one tried and true!  The little bunny is from  Happy Winter Wishes - www.techniquejunkies.com/happy-winter-wishes-set-of-3/. The background is called Harlequin Love - www.techniquejunkies.com/love-harlequin/. The verse is Love Complete -
http://techniquejunkies.com/love-complete/ .  I used my Copic markers to color her in, and the verse is heat embossed. I used Wink of Stella on her scarf  and i loosely sketched in the mounds of snow.

My next card use two stamps.  The verse is the new one from the set called Butter My Butt - www.techniquejunkies.com/butter-my-butt-set-of-8/  The lady is from the set called The Rules - http://techniquejunkies.com/the-rules/  .  The lady is  colored with my Copic markers.
.

This card uses three stamps.  The background is called Love Overlay - http://techniquejunkies.com/love-overlay/.  It is stamped with white pigment ink and heat embossed with white powder.  The heart is die cut from the stamp called Love Heart - http://techniquejunkies.com/love-heart/  .  I stamped it with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with red glitter embossing powder.  The verse is the new stamp -  Truly, Madly, Deeply - www.techniquejunkies.com/truly-madly-deeply/ and is heat embossed with white  embossing powder.  A lovely Valentine!

My last card for you today is a "Z Card." You pull on the left and the card forms a "Z shape."  I used Harlequin Love to create the background paper sections - www.techniquejunkies.com/love-harlequin/.  Then I used a stamp called The Kiss - www.techniquejunkies.com/the-kiss/ .  Punched out hearts from glimmer paper and a red gingham ribbon finish the card.
