Just Be Sweet!

I  used Tulip with Text and words from Five Fab Phrases.  This is a great set.    I think you can make more than five phrases from this set!

Here are the phrases I came up with from this set.  Can you come up with more?
Just be sweet
Just Smile
Just Enjoy
Just Hello
Just be happy
Just dream
Simply smile
Simply dream
Simply be happy
You make me dream
You make me happy
You make me smile.

I stamped the image three times.  I sprayed the background with Ocean Depth Shimmering Bliss.   Then I painted the second image of just the tulip  with Shimmering Bliss.   I used a green for the stem and leaves.  And I used a red for the tulip it self.  But you could use purple, yellow, pink, dark blue, and a mixture of these same colors. I fussy cut the entire tulips out and popped it up.  Then I painted and cut out just the third tulip and popped it up again.  I added a tiny red bow at the base of the tulip.

The words were  stamped and heat embossed and cut out, layered, and mounted.

Winds of Change

I stamped Build Windmills and heat embossed it.  Then   I painted it with Twinkling H2Os.   I used used the Doily Stencil from A Colorful Life Stencils to make the background.  I used a small Ink Blending Brush to add the light blue the background.

Then I stamped Inspirational Alphabet  with white pigment ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.    I sprayed two different shades of Shimmering Bliss over the background.   I wiped off any excess before heat setting the card stock to dry.

After adhering all of the parts of the card, I gave a few quick spritzes of Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper.  The shimmer is delicious!

Life Is Short

I used Stand Tall without the verse.  I added  some reinkers to a baby wipe and created my own mixture of colors on the wipe.  I had inked up the giraffes with Versamark first so when I inked up the colors, I could heat emboss with clear powder.    I then stamped the ATC Vintage Picture Frame with Versfine black ink and stamped it on thin,  text weight vellum.  After heat embossing it with detail black embossing powder, I trimmed it and ran it through a Xyron machine.  I adhered it to the giraffes and then trimmed off the excess.    Just below the mounted giraffes I stamped  the funny saying Life is Short and heat embossed it.

I used the same giraffes on the envelope. I used markers to color the giraffes and then light spritzed the stamp with a misat of water.

Smile!!

The focal image (and the greeting) come from the set Five Fab Phrases.   Precise Posy  is the background.   I stamped both with white pigment ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  To color the background  I used Lapis Lazuli Shimmering Bliss and  Just Squeezed Shimmering Bliss.   I wiped off any residual droplets from the embossed areas before I heat set the card stock to dry.

With Sympathy

Sending  sympathy cards is never fun.   I always want to have several sympathy cards on hand, on the ready to be mailed out whenever I will need them.    However, yesterday  I was caught off guard.  I "knew" this particular death was coming because my friend had fought cancer for two years.  She decided two weeks ago to stop fighting after she was told there was nothing else they could do.  She had chemo, she had treatments to boost her blood counts when it was low.   She recruited a prayer team.  (I do believe in prayer and I do believe that God answers prayer.  But I also know that way God answers prayer is not always the way we want!)  The "With Sympathy" is a retired Stampin' Up stamp.

I did not have enough sympathy cards on hand for those friends. So yesterday I had to make five different sympathy cards.  For her husband, for each of her three children and spouses, and for her parents.  We all went to church together years ago before we moved away.  Her children were in the youth group with my kids.  Those cards are in the mail heading towards this family.

Now today, I need to make more sympathy cards so I can have a stock on hand again.  This is one of the new cards.  It will truly one of a kind.  I will not make another like it because it was labor intensive.  I had this idea in mind and wanted to see if I could duplicate what was in my mind's eye!

1. The first step was to go over the black card stock with an embossing buddy.  Any stray gold flecks will show up in stark relief against the black.
2. Using an ultra thick rose embossing folder, emboss the card stock.
3. Under a good light,  and using a tiny paint brush, paint Versamark  embossing reinker over one  section at a time of the embossed flowers.
4. Using detail gold embossing powder, sprinkle it over the section of the card stock  you have painted with the Versamark ink refill.  Heat emboss that section.
5.  Repeat this process until all areas of the embossed flowers are heat embossed with the detail gold embossing powder.

Have a good rest of the weekend, and get inky!!

WWDB Challenge Week 4 - Card # 6 - Strong Women

I used Interlocking Leaves stencil from A Colorful Life Stencils.   I used the no laminator technique  to add the spring green foil to the card base.  I used Transfer Gel Duo Then I stamped the verse Strong Women on green vellum and heat embossed it.  I placed on the left side of the card.   I stamped African Beauty 3 on white card stock. and three times on background paper.  I colored her skin with Copic markers, and used a metallic marker to color the jewelry.  Then I fussy cut the dress and turban and adhered them to the woman and fussy cut all three ladies out to adhere to the card. WWDB Week 4 - Card #4 - Taking Time to Do Nothing

I used the stamp Perspective on both the card and the envelope. It is heat embossed on the card.  I sponge the grass.  I used a home made cloud stencil on the background and a store bought one around the girl on the swing.  I bought that stencil more than 22 years ago.  To create the background I used the Dragon Skin stencil from A Colorful Life Designs Stencils.  I sprayed Ocean Depth Shimmering Bliss on the background.  Then I used the homemade cloud stencil and a light blue ink to add the cloud depth to the background.    I added a few star sequins to the darkest part of the sky.

The verse on the inside of the card comes from the set Sentimental Sayings.   Save 10% using the code TJ10Judy when you check out.

WWDB Challenge Week 4 - Card #3 - Making Wishes

I used three stamps to create this wishing card: Never Stop Making WishesLinen Dots, and  a verse from Mae West Sentiments

It is a mono-chromatic card so all of the stamping was done in the same olive green.  However, I wanted the vocal image to be heat embossed.  I don't know if you know this trick - ink your stamp first with Versamark.  Then ink it in the dye-based color of your choice. It is now the same as a pigment ink.   Put clear embossing powder over all and heat emboss!

I used the weeds portion of the stamps for the envelope.

While this card does not use any May Release stamps you can still order them .  You can use the code TJ10Judy and get 10% off of your entire order -- including the May Release Stamps.

I hope you have a terrific day, and are able to get inky.

WWDB Challenge Week 4 - Card #1 - Just Enjoy!

This is the last week for What We Do Best Challenge.  This is my first card for week 4.  I hope you have enjoyed and have been inspired by all of the artwork that has been shown in the Technique Junkies Facebook group.

My last card used Lotus Corner, words from the set Five Fab Phrases, and a verse from Mae West Sentiments 2.  I first stamped the Lotus Corner and the verse in white pigment ink and heat embossed that with white embossing powder.   Then knowing that the embossing powder would resist Shimmering Bliss, I sprayed several shades of Technique Junkies Shimmering Bliss.  Then I dipped my paint brush in a dark color and painted a  bit over the flowers and in a green for the leaves.  Then i dabbed a craft towel over the colors dotting the embossed areas.   I used my heat gun to dry the card front.

The envelope was stamped with Lotus Corner and I used some watercolor pencils to quickly add some color to the envelope.   I ran a damp water brush over the color to blend it.

The lovely ribbon added just the right touch for this card.

This card doesn't use the Technique Junkies May Release Stamps but you find them all here.  They are 15% percent automatically through May 8- TODAY!!!   But you can stack my personal code TJ10Judy and get another 10 % your entire order including  the May release stamps!  What a deal!
Have a marvelous spring day and get inky.
