With Sympathy

I have had this stamp a long time.  It is called Serenity and I think I bought it from Artistic Outpost but I believe their name has changed.  I used a blending brush to add color to the trees and a red marker for the chimney.    I used the Cloud Edger stencil  for the sky.  I think the verse is from a long ago retired SU set.

Penguin Birthday

 

My niece loves penguins so when I found this stamp, I had to buy it!  The frame around the penguin was one I found in my stash of stuff.  I applied some color to it with a sponge dauber.  Emperor penguins have this yellow-orangish color of the heads. I used the Cloud Edger stencil for the sky. 

I tore and "ice flow" from white card stock  and placed the fussy cut penguins on the "ice flow."  I made sure they were centered behind the oval opening.

I used World Compass and water colored the various areas.  The background paper is actually from a store bag!! The verse from Celebrate Diversity.  It was heat embossed with an embossing powder that had a variegated color.

Escape in a Sailboat!

This card may look complicated but it really isn't.    But there were a few steps.  

1. I stamped the Stormy Sea border twice,  and used blending brushes with several shades of ink to color in both borders.  It didn't matter if i neatly applied the ink or not because  I would be fussy cutting both borders.

2.  I used the cloud edger stencil  to create the sky with several shades of ink.   I brought the sky down as far as I thought I might need it because I was going to layer both Stormy Sea borders at the bottom. 

3. I stamped the sentiment from Ocean Frame Stenitments as high as I could on the cloud panel.   I stamped it with Versa fine black ink and heat embossed it clean embossing powder.

4.  I positioned the fussy cut first Stormy Sea border  so that  the sentiment was not covered and adhered it to the panel.

5. Then I stamped the sail boat section of the Sailing Panel and colored the boat with Copic markers.  I fussy cut out the boat and positioned and adhered it to the first Stormy Sea border.   Then I adhered the second fussy cut Stormy Sea border over the boat and the first Stormy Sea border  so that the sail boat looked like it was really sailing through that story sea to get back to land.   

6. Then I trimmed off any excess from the finished panel.  I knew there would be excess so I planned for this.  I layered it on navy card stock, and then on the yellow.    I am positive that sailor knows he has escaped the ordinary and will be glad when he returns to solid land!

Friendship is a Flower

I used the Antique Glimmers technique to create a background of sorts from which I die cut all of the petals for the sunflower. I used a blending brush to apply ink through the Wispy Vines stencil in the background.  The verse is from In Full Bloom Sentiments which is a great group of sentiments.

Way to Go!

 

I created this card over a year ago and just hadn't posted it yet.  I created it a young relative's birthday in December, and then Covid happened -- need I say more?  It was never given to him.   I used the Swirl Mat stencil from  A Colorful Life Designs over a panel and then I had applied various shades of blue ink  leaving the white swirls.  I fussy cut the top to create the ocean.  I adhered it to a pnel where I created a cloudy sky with a homemade cloud stencil.  I stamped the Dolphin  on a scrap of white cardstock.  I colored it with various shades of gray Copic markers and then fussy  him out.  I pulled back the edge of the water and stuck him behind.  Way to Go was stamped  and heat embossed on the left side.

Escape!

I used Framed Seascape   and a sentiment from the fabulous Ocean Frame Sentiments.  I colored the images with Copic markers.   The center of the was stenciled with a blending brush, blue ink and the Turbulent Waters Stencils from A Colorful Life Designs.

Sail Away!!

 I stamped Sailing Panel first.  I used blending brushes  to color the sky and water.  I used Turbulent Waters Stencil for the background.  Blending brushes were used to add color.  Then I used an embossing buddy  and swiped over the inked areas before I stamped  Sail Away With Me with black pigment ink.  I sprinkled clear embossing powder over the words and heat set.  

I spritzed a couple of bursts of Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Spray topper over all.

Ocean Shaker Card

I created this shaker card using the new June Technique Junkies release of Framed Seascape.  I stamped twice on two 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 white panels.  I colored all of the elements the same with Copic markers.  I used the Turbulent Water Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  The view above is the card laying down after shaking it.  And the view below is the card standing up.

I used a tiny black rhinestone on each eye of the fish. I used my trimmer and cut away the excess around the frame and prepared it for the top layer of the shaker card.  I used a die and cut out a scalloped circle circle in the top layer.  Then I adhered a scrap piece of acetate  from packaging  and adhered it on the back of the top layer.  Then I used thin strips of foam tape around the edges of the top layer and around the circle.  I used a tiny spoon and placed a small amount of the tiny blue stars in the middle of where the window would cover on the bottom layer.  I positioned the top layer so it lined up perfectly with the bottom layer.

Dance With the Waves

 This card uses mostly wonderful stencils from A Colorful Life Designs Stencils and a verse from Technique Junkies Ocean Frame Sentiments which I thought went perfectly with my card!

I used Turbulent Waters Stencil for the background and Sun and Surf Stencil for the foreground.    I used a long sticky note to mask either above or below the horizon line on the stencil.  I used several shades of Shimmering Bliss to color the water with both stencils.  After all ocean water is not consistently the same shade of blue.  I used Mindaro Shimmering Bliss and  Imperial Yellow Shimmering Bliss for the sunrise.

My first card for you uses  2 stamps from the June release:  Sketched Beach and a verse from Ocean Frame Sentiments.  I watercolored the scene.  

I crated this slimline card with Stormy Sea Border.   I used my stamping platform  and stamped  the ocean twice.  I was amazed to see the joining line was hardly visible. But I placed the sentiment over that spot so you can't see it anyway.  I used another verse from Ocean Frame Sentiments.   I just returned from Florida recently and I have had a ton to unpack.  I hadn't found my stencils yet when I created this card so I just sponged the sky..  The waves were painted with Twinkling H2Os.
