Over the Rainbow

I used one of the stamps in Tropical Corners and colored it with  watercolor pencils.  Then I took a fairly large piece "packing acetate"  and used a round container with a magic marker.  I cut it on the curve with scissors.  I used with blending brushes and dye based ink to create the rainbow.  The verse is  from the stamp set Wizard of Oz, set of 7.   The beautiful Cloud Edger Stencil from A Color Life Designs  was used to create the clouds with the blending brushes.

Nature Gives Beauty

While it is now July, did you know that often Dandelions are often first flower to provide nectar for bees? Without bees and other types of pollinating insects our food would not grow well?  Knowing that makes me appreciate the Blooming Dandelions!!  They are colored with Copic markers.  Its own Beauty was stamped and heat embossed on colored vellum from my stash.  I used blending brushes to  add the colors through the Square Fade Stencil from A  Colorful Life Design.

Field Flowers

I used Its Own Beauty for the verse and stamped it on colored vellum from my stash. I blocked out most of the white card stock with  long post it notes. I created the clouds with the Cloud Edger Stencil  from A Colorful Life Designs and blending brushes.   I used City Windows Stencil which  is also from A Colorful Life Designs.  Color was added with blending brushes.

A Best Friend

Do you have a best friend? I have had lots of very good friends in my life.  Some of these friends have lasted over 50 years!  I am not young any more!!  😀 The stamp is A Best Friend.   I stamped the image with back Memento ink and colored it with  Copic markers.  The background was created with blending brushes and the Lace Doily Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.

Roasting Marshmallows

The background is Woodland Wonders.  I used a green Copic marker to color or highlight  the green leaves.  I used watercolor pencils  to color or highlight various areas of  Our Campfire image.  including the grass at the bottom.  

Our kids used to love making S'Mores over an open fire that had calmed down.  I am that our grandies love making them too!!  What is not to love?

The Rest of My Life

I colored the lady on the focal image, The Best  of My Life,  with Copic markers.  I used black Memento ink.  I thought Stencil Rings created a good background for the lady.  The blending brushes and Distress oxide inks created  a lovely background.

Balance on One Leg

When I first saw the background stamp, Flamingos and Feathers, I imagined this card! I used Flamingo 1 and Balance on One Leg. They are colored with Copic Markers.  I used the Cloud Edger Stencil for the sky with the single flamingo.  The  blending brushes made it easy to use the cloud stencil.

Welcome To the Beach

I have a good friend  who loves to go to the beach every year.  She gets revived with every beach trip. And she loves starfish. 

Here are some characteristics of  starfish or sea stars as they are also known:

• Arms. The starfish usually have 5 arms with ambulacral grooves , although there are also specimens with 20 arms.
• Mouth. This is located in the middle of the oral disc; and it is strategically bordered by a peristomial membrane, which is formed by a sphincter.
• Color and skin. Starfish have different and very attractive colors, which captivate the attention of anyone.  
• They have the ability to regenerate an arm if it is torn off.  However, it can take about a year.
• Size and weight. Their size and weight vary according to the species, however their measurements generally range between 12 to 25 centimeters in diameter. There are about 2000 varieties. 
• Behavior. These marine creatures are the calmest of the aquatic environment, and they usually carry out all their activities at night.

You might find this video about star fish interesting.  It is only a few minutes long.

Beachin' It!!

Shells and Starfish stamp was used for the background.  I chose this background stamp because the close (but not exact) similarity in style ad design to the foreground stamp image  Seashell Square.  Both images were colored with my Copic markers.  The vere verse is Beachin' It - a verse released several years ago.  I used a sponge and lightly added some of the color.   I wrapped some heavy thread around the focal image to add some visual interest.

Refreshed by the Creek

This lovely card's background is created with an old paper embossing folder.  Then I spritzed it with Ocean Depth Shimmering Bliss and Festive Flamingo Shimmering Bliss in the areas shown.  Then I used dense sponges to add some color from dye based inks to highlight the raised areas.  The focal image is At the River and is colored with Copic markers.  I stamped of the great verses from the Dear Friend Sentiment Sentiment stamp set on blue vellum with black pigment ink.  The verse was heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder.   I then tore the vellum around the verse and adhered it to the front of the card using a Xyron machine for the adhesive.

A Floral Birthday Wish

The background was created with an embossing folder that I found to have an interesting texture to it.  I used a dense round sponge to apply dye based  ink to the raised areas.   

The flowers are from the stamp A Best Friend.  I cut the verse off so I had two stamps instead of one.  The flowers were colored with my Copic markers.  The verse at the bottom is from the stamp set Dear Friend. The font is beautiful  and the set  has several terrific greetings.  I fussing cut around th words, and fussy trimmed the black layering card stock.

Jubilant July’s Joyful New Stamps!

Hooray!! It is the day we are waiting for!!   It is release day for Technique Junkies Stamps.  nd these stamps will not leave you disappointed!    Please be sure you look at all of the blogs for there is  lot of beautifully done  eye candy with these new release stamps!  

Aren't these great, ad there are so many ways to use these stamps!

I chose The Happy Housewife to go with Distracted.  I painted The Happy Housewife with Twinkling H20s.  I used Scribble Roses Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs for the background.  I used blending brushes with pink and purple inks.  I use black pigment ink on the verse Distracted and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. It was stamped and then layered it with several layers of pink vellum.

I stamped Field Flowers  with Versamark ink and covered it detail white embossing powder.  It was heat set.  I used blending brushes with two shades of dye based green ink.  Then I used a fiber cloth to buff off extra ink from the white embossing powder.   The verse from Dear Friend Sentiment - Set of 5  was stamped with Versamark ink on green vellum.  I heat embossed the verse with detail white embossing powder and heat set it.  I used a X shaped Xyron sticker maker  to apply the adhesive.  

I stamped the Tropical Corners stamps on a trimmed 3 3/4 inch by 5 inch white cardstock with black pigment ink and heat embossed it  with detail clear embossing powder.  I then placed the Tropical Leaves stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over the card stock.  I used a blending brush and using a light dye based green ink  I pushed color through the stencil adding leaves between the corners.  I used the same blending brush and applied ink to the leaves of the Tropical Corners stamps.  I applied ink and darkened the leaves.  I used dye based markers to add color to the various areas of the leaves.  I carefully trimmed the verse from Lower Blood Pressure away the seashell image.  I stamped it with black pigment ink and heat embossed it with detail clear embossing powder.
