Palm Trees and A Cool Breeze

I used Crane  and Palm Trees along with a home made cloud stencil.  I colored the Crane with Copic Markers.   The Palm Trees were colored with dye based markers  using a stamping platform over and over until the image was colored with the intensity I wanted.  Then I inked it up with Versamark and heat set with clear embossing powder.

A Pet Christmas - Christmas in July Challenge

For pet people, they often include gifts for their pets under the Christmas tree.  This card celebrates that kind of love for pets.  I used Buddies inked with green ink on a brayer in the my stampin platform.  That enables me to get a good coat of ink on the glossy white card stock.  Then I used the tiny snowflake stamp called Breathe. It is a TJ stamp so ask Pat Huntoon about ordering one.  I added the white glitter paper die cut of Merry Christmas.  This is a good card for a pert lover, isn't it?  But it is an unusual stamp for a Christmas card.  But the color, the die cut, and the tiny snowflakes make it work.

Watercolor Christmas - Christmas in July Challenge

And this Christmas card with an unusual stamp, I used Watercolor Flowers.  I heat embossed the image with detail white embossing powder.  Then I used Dragon's Blood Shimmering Bliss and gave it a good coat of this red!  The Merry Christmas die cut in white glitter paper was adhered to red card stock and adhered to the front of the card.  I used a light mist of  Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Spray over all of the front.  After all, Christmas  cards ARE very glimmery, right?

Then I used the Ink Blending Brushes  to add the color on the envelope with the Primitive Batik Stencil from a Colorful Life Designs.

A Lotus Christmas - Christmas in July Challenge

To create this Christmas card with a non-Christmas stamp,  I used Lotus Corner.  I heat embossed it in detail gold embossing powder on red card stock.  Then I painted it with Lucious Lawn Shimmering Bliss.   I added the die cut of Merry Christmas in white glitter paper.  While not a traditional Christmas stamp, the colors make this work!

A Meowy Christmas - Christmas in July Challenge

So here is one of my Christmas cards created in Florida when I had no Christmas stamps.  The colors are what makes it work!  I used Crazy Cat Border  and inked it up with white pigment ink, and heat embossed  it with white embossing powder.  I spritzed it with Lucious Lawn Shimmering Bliss. I used First Snow for this Christmas card.  I painted it with Twinkling H2O's and just watercolored the sky.  This is another Z-fold card with holly leaves background paper on the flap.  I die cut the Merry Christmas from red glitter paper.

Silver and Blue Bells - Christmas in July Challenge

I used the Christmas Trio Stencil to create this Z-fold card.  I went around the outside of each ornament with a Versamark marker and heat embossed it with detail silver embossing powder.  I die cut silver  glitter paper to say Merry Christmas.  I added color through the stencil with the Ink Blending Brushes.  I spritzed with Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper Spray.

Frosty Christmas - Christmas in July Challenge

I used Snow Swirls for the background and heat embossed it with a pale aqua embossing powder.  Then I spritzed it with Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper. Boy, does it shimmer!  I die cut the Merry Christmas in white glitter paper and layered it over a dark teal Star Dream text weight metallic shimmer paper.

Merry Christmas Little Penguin - Christmas in July Challenge

I used one the penguins from the Let's Chill stamp set. I created an igloo using a circle die and an oval die.  I drew the ice block lines by hand.  The penguin's hat and sweater were colored with Copic markers. I used a homemade cloud stencil and the tiny stamp Breathe - ask Pat Huntoon to make you one!    I die cut the Merry Christmas  from red glitter paper.   I spritzed it all with Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper spray.

Vintage Santa - Christmas in July Challenge

I used two stamps for this card. The first is Father Christmas, and Merry Christmas-2.  I used my stamping platform to stamp Father Christmas on glossy paper.  Because the dye based ink doesn't dry quickly on glossy paper I could cover it with clear embossing powder and heat emboss it quickly.   The greeting was heat embossing in detail gold embossing powder.  Layered on plaid paper it gives a wonderful vintage feel for a quick card.

This is a Z-fold Christmas card with the Christmas greeting under the fold.  No stamps but two stencils from A Colorful Life Designs. I used Christmas Trio and Lace Doily. I stamped Snowman  in white pigment ink, and covered it with white detail embossing powder and heat set it.  Then I painted over it with with white opaque paint.  I used Twinkling H2O's to paint everything else.   I used a tiny stamp called Breathe for the snowflakes in the sky.  Send a note to Pat Huntoon to ask about this stamp. Now I will tell you a little secret:  When Pat told the Design Time she was considering doing a Christmas challenge, I was still stuck in Florida due to Covid19! Because I go to Florida in early January for the winter, I do not take  Christmas stamps with me!  I panicked.  People who know me well, know I like to plan ahead and I like to be prepared for things in advance.  So I looked at the stamps I had in Florida at the time and created Christmas cards out of unusual stamps.  I did have a few "snow theme stamps" and I used those too.

Here is one of those Christmas cards I made  from non traditional Christmas stamps.  I used Kitty Watching and Retro Sparkles.   To create the brick work I used a dye based marker here and there on the bricks in an embossing folder.   Then I embossed some rusty red cardstock  and that transferred the ink onto the cardstock.  I used Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper over the bricks.   The envelope was stamped with an old stamp Breathe.    I used a die cut for Merry Christmas from red glitter paper.  The cat was colored with Copic markers and I fussy cut it out.

Wish Upon a Starfish

I used Wish Upon a Starfish  as the focal image.  I colored it with Copic markers.  I used A Colorful Life Designs stencil Flowing Drops for the background,  adding color with the Ink Blending Brushes.

Take the Scenic Route

I used a die (I  do not remember which company manufactures it, sorry) and used the smallest blending brushes  to add colors to the white card stock i die cut.  I used the Primitive Batik Stencil from A Colorful Life Stencils   for water and a homemade cloud stencil for the sky.   The sentiment is Scenic Route which was heat embossed on vellum.    It is adhered to the scene with one of my Xyron  machine.

I used the Skeleton Leaf Stencil for the background.  I used Pixie Spray to hold the stencil in place. Then I used the ink blending brushes to add color.   I  stamped Modern Dandelions with black Versafine ink and heat embossed with detail black embossing powder.  The verse is Be True to Yourself  and was heat embossed.

I stamped Floral Card Frame on white card stock.   I used Copic markers to color the image.  I used a stamping platform to stamp Better in the Country.  I stamped it over and over until I got the depth of black I wanted before heat embossing with clear embossing powder.   I used A Colorful Life Designs Dragon Skin stencil for the grass.  I used the Ink Blending Brushes to add the ink color through the stencil.

I used Floral Card Frame first.   I colored the leaves and flowers with Copic markers.  Then I used the Ink Blending Brushes to add color all over and the add intensity of color in the corners.  I stamped The First to Apologize in black pigment ink and added embossing powder. I followed that with heat embossing.  Then I sprayed Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper over all.   I add the pearl embellishments as a final touch.
