Awesome and Inspiring New Stamps for Technique Junkies

Terrific stamps for August.  With such a variety the design team  has created wonderful cards for your to see.  My first one features Writers Block. I used blue and orange Shimmering Bliss .  You could use any colors you wished.  Then I cut out the word hello in both black and blue, and stacked them to add depth and texture.  

My second card uses Victorian Collage and The words are from You're Vintage. The verse was heat embossed with black Versafine ink and detail clear embossing folder.   The background is a vintage embossing folder  I used a firm sponge with dye based ink to add the highlights.  I used Copic markers to add details around the man.  I added Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper all over the card.  

Detailed, almost photograph type images are often difficult to stamp and get a clear image.    I want to share with you what I have found to help.  Use a piece of glossy card stock but NOT photo paper.  .Photo paper is often  coated with emulsions that will become a mess when stamped on.  I used my stamp positioner.  There are many of these on the market so use the one you have or the one you like best.  Position the stamp over the glossy card stock.  Pick up black dye based ink and cover your brayer picking up ink in both directions.  Then run the ink over the stamp. and press down.  Repeat putting ink on the brayer.  Then apply ink in the opposite direction you before.  Repeat until you have the coverage you desire.   Let the ink completely dry before adding any color to avoid smearing.  You can heat set it, but let it cool before adding color.
