Woman With a Puppy

To create this card, I used my very, very dirty Versamark ink pad.  I wanted to use the dirty one and not the clean one because I wanted to color my image with Pan Pastels.   In order to do that I had to be able to see it!   In order to see the stamped image the Versamark pad had to be dirty.  

I used a MISTI so I could stamp, restamp, restamp, restamp, and restamp until the image was clear enough for me to use.  Because Pan Pastels do not have a skin color I used my Copic markers to color her skin. I used a very thin tip on a writing marker to add some details around the puppy, her face, and her arm.  Those details did not show up with the Pan Pastels.   I used a pointed Q-Tip to add the Pan Pastels to background, her hair, her dress, and the spot on the puppy.  I stamped randomly on the card base to add texture.

Turn On the Light!

It is always strange to me that when you take a picture of a card, it doesn't come out in the right colors.   I took several pictures and it still wasn't right!  So you will just have to believe me that the upper TJ Shimmering Bliss color is Mindaro and it is Yellow. And the light blue is sprayed heavily with Mindaro!  And it IS yellow. And the bow matches it perfectly!  The blue is Shimmering Bliss Ocean Depth.

The Technique Junkies stamps I used are:

Turn On the Light.

The text inside the light bulb is heat embossed in detail black embossing powder.

Favorite Christmas Cards Through The Years

 I have been on the Design Team for Technique Junkies  for a long time. I was on the Design Team when Pat Huntoon published a newsletter several years ago.  I have been on the Design Team for Technique Junkies Stamps since Pat  Huntoon bought the company. And I am still on that Design Team, and I plan to be for as long as she wants me and I can do the work of designing cards for her.

Snowflake Inchies

I used Technique Junkies Snowflakes stamp set.  It is so pretty and so versatile!  All of the snowflakes were heat embossed on white card stock.  Then I sprayed Technique Junkies Mermaid Shimmering Bliss just enough to make the snowflakes stand out and show up.  The inchie snow flakes were punched out and then layered with another  punch out with a scalloped border.  I sponged some color on the rest of the white card stock.

Have Faith in Your Dreams

I used Technique Junkies Fishing Boat and Faith in Your Dreams  to create this card.   I used  several colors of Shimmering Bliss Sprays and just spritzed over the grass, boat, and water.   You could choose whichever sprays appealed to you! The  verse is stamped and heat embossed on vellum and adhered using my Xyron machine.   I added a brad of sand dollars and starfish.

Beautiful Poinsettias

I saw a sample card at a rubber stamp show.  I loved this lovely  poinsettia stamp.  It is a Penny Black stamp called Scarlet Majesty  and the verse is also Penny Black and is in a set called Rejoice with Joy.

Sometimes when you see  card on display at a stamp show you can see exactly how to make the card.  I could not with this  card, and I had to proceed with trial and error.  I thought it was colored direct to stamp with markers but no, that did not turn out well.    What worked well was to use finger daubers with ink from the the stamp pad directly on the stamp. Then I very lightly spritzed the stamp with a very fine mist of water and stamped it on white card stock.  I repeated it a second time in the corner.  I added the verse stamped with Versafine black ink and embossed with detail black embossing powder.  I added  small pearly dots with my Nuvo drops Ivory Seashell.  Many vendors carry this product.   I burnished the green background with my sponge and olive green ink. I misted over the top with Technique Junkies Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper. 

It is not a difficult card but it is a little time consuming but I feel it was worth the effort.

Music

This is an unusual colored Christmas card.  I used Technique Junkies Stamps Violin Collage   and Music Opens the Soul.  Shimmering Bliss Sprays Ocean Depth and Thulian Pink to color all parts of this card.  My last piece of this rainbow ribbon to tie it all together. 

My verse on the inside also has music  as a theme as I wish my friends a Merry Christmas.

A Walk in the Park

  

I used two lovely Technique Junkies Stamps Carved Relief and Park Walk.   I stamped both images with a dark brown ink on white card stock.  I sprayed the background with Simmering Bliss Harvest Sunset.   I used Shimmering Bliss Harvest  Sunset, Vivid Volt and Luscious Lawn.

I used copper text weight paper and dark brown card stock as the layers for this card.

Jump in the Puddles

I used  Technique Junkies stamp Puddle Jump to create this card.  I used Technique Junkies Shimmering Bliss Sprays to create the background grass and sky.  Then I used two different stencils (one was a Tim Holtz stencil) and A Colorful Life Stencil Circles Make Circles and I sprayed Shimmering Bliss through the stencils as well to add interest to the background.

Come Ye Thankful People

This is after Thanksgiving I know.  This hymn stamp comes from  Impression Obsession and is called Come Ye Faithful.  The leaves are die cut and sprayed with a variety of colors of Technique Junkies Shimmering Bliss Sprays, as was the background. I die cut black leaves to add a shadow and help the top leaves to stand out.

Snowflake Hugs

The Snowflakes and the verse are all from Technique Junkies Snowflakes set.   They are embossed with white embossing powder on tan  card stock.  Then I used A Colorful Life Stencil Medallion Fade.   I sprayed Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper over the stencil to add interest to the background.

The Angels Declared

This was an idea in progress.   I wanted to blend the Nuvo Mousse in several colors for the background, and the focal image panel.  It took me a few times to get it to look the way I had it envisioned in my mind.  Does that ever happen to you?

I used A Colorful Life Medallion Fade Stencil and several shades of Nuvo Mousse.  There are so many wonderful shades of this mousse and it is so easy to work with.    You can watch Pat Huntoon's video on this wonderful product here.

I made this card a while ago but I "think" I used these colors: Citrus Green, Pacific Teal, and Royal-Aubergine

I stamped Technique Junkies The Greatest Story on a panel with black pigment ink and colored it with detail black embossing powder for the best coverage, and heat set it. Then I used the same stencil and the blue and purple Nuvo Mousse and only put the mousse on the outside edges.  I tied a ribbon around the layer and then used my heat gun to melt the ribbon a bit to "antique" it. 

I spritzed the top of everything with Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper spray.  What a wonderful shimmer this gives!

Red and White Pines

To create this card I used  three Technique Junkies Stamps.  I use Fir Forest, All Is Calm, and Star Stream.   The stars and the trees were stamped with white pigment ink, anmd heat embossed with detail white embossing powder.  The verse was first inked with Versamark, and then with dye based red ink on  vellum.  I then covered it with detail clear embossing powder and heat set it all.  It was adhered with my Xyron machine.  I added the cardinal brad.  

The white card stock is 4 1/4  by 5 1/2 inches. The red card stock is 4 inches by 10 3/4 inches and scored in half.  I adhered it onto the white layer.  The inside greeting in on a small piece of white card stock so it can be read easily.  I then spritzed the top of the card with Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper.

Four Square Pine Spray

I used the Arrowhead Chevron Stencil with Vivid Volt Shimmering Bliss spray to create the background.  The Technique Junkies Stamps I used are Pine Spray and A Very Merry Christmas.  I used markers on the Pine Spray and then added highlights with markers.

Snowflake Triple Play

I used the Triple Play technique with this new TJ release set of Snowflakes with two colors of inks.  The verse Merry Christmas  is stamped with black Versafine ink and heat embossed with detail black embossing powder.  The bottom layer of is framed with red card stock. The other two layers are framed with red glitter paper.

A few black rhinestones on the center of the snowflakes embellish the card.  The base card is a creamy tan -- the same as the creamy tan ink for some of the snow flakes.  A gentle mist of  Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper spray finishes the card and is heat set.

Technique Junkies Thankful for YOU Sale

Shimmering Bliss Panel

I had this die cut panel left over from another card project that I had made. Like most of the stampers I know, I try not to throw away perfectly good car stock unless it is too small to be used.  So I sprayed this panel with  green and dark blue Shimmering Bliss sprays.  I heat set it to dry. Then it was stamped with snowflakes from the Technique Junkies November Release Snowflakes.  I used white pigment ink and detail white embossing powder.  Detail or extra fine embossing powder is a must when you are stamping an image or words so the details will still be clearly visible.   Embossing powder spreads as it melts.

I also sprayed this panel with Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper spray.  It was adhered to the white card stock.  I had previously punched a lace border.  I cut a strip of navy blue card stock to adhere under it so the lacy details are more clearly visible.  It goes all the way top and the entire panel is layered on a A2 size white card base. 

The words are from Technique Junkies  Gifts of Christmas stamp set.  I inked the words with Versamark and then with navy blue ink.  Then I used clear detail embossing powder and heat set.

Window Pines

I used two  Technique Junkies stamps to create this card.  I used Fir Forest and Merry Christmas 2 which were stamped on a panel  and placed behind  die cut window.  The sky was sponged on it first.  The top layer is a panel dry embossed with a  snowflake embossing folder.   White pearls were added to the center of some of the snowflakes.  Dazzle Simmering Bliss spray was added to the top layer.

The words Merry Christmas were stamped with black Versafine ink and heat embossed  with detail black embossing powder.  

The bottom of this card is an A2 sized dark moss green piece of card stock.   The main part of the card is 4 inches by 11 1/4 inches.  It is scored in half and then after the card is ready to mount, it is adhered to the green card stock.  The inside greeting is stamped on the inside of the folded white card stock.

If Hugs Were Snowflakes

Even at Christmas time we all can use a hug!  So this verse is just fine for Christmas as well. The Technique Junkies Stamps I used for this card are Fir Forest and Snowflakes.    I used Dazzle Shimmering Bliss topper over the smaller panel with the trees to add a bit of delightful shimmer.   Dark brown and copper card stock were used as layers for this card.
